"Enterprise is fully committed to providing every employee with an inclusive workplace that offers respect, training and opportunities to succeed. That’s simply who we are as a company, who we are as individuals and how we will continue to build our success in the 21st century."

         - Andrew C. Taylor, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Our commitment starts at the top

Diversity is more than a goal – it’s a real part of the way we do business. At Enterprise, we’re committed to providing all of our employees with respect, training and opportunities to succeed. We’re also committed to serving new markets and being a real part of our communities. To accomplish these goals, we need a team that’s culturally aware and we must be an organization that’s culturally competent.

Community Focus

We do business where our customers live and work – in the heart of their neighborhoods. Maybe that’s why we feel so strongly about mirroring the communities we serve. Enterprise reaches out to people of all backgrounds, and our commitment to being an inclusive company extends to every employee, customer, service provider and business partner, as well as to our partnerships with such organizations as the National Urban League and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Diversity Initiatives:

Executive Leadership

From our St. Louis Headquarters and working with the company’s executive leadership, our corporate diversity team is responsible for the implementation of our overall diversity strategy and our Executive Diversity Action Team provides measurement and accountability for the results.

Representation

  • Recruitment and Retention
    • Enterprise is actively involved in recruiting and hiring a diverse workforce utilizing partnerships with National and Local organizations such as: Women for Hire, The National Urban League Black Executive Exchange Program “BEEP,” Monster DLP, National Association of Black Accountants, The Black Collegian, the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, and many more.
    • Retaining a diverse talent pool helps ensure our company success. It starts by listening to our employees through our companywide employee opinion survey. The North American Career and Family Focus Group, local diversity teams, and an “open door” management practice also helps us reach our goals. Actions come by way of increased work flexibility, family events, and expanded benefits.

Employee Involvement

  • Diversity Teams
    • Our North American and European Diversity Team / Career and Family Focus Groups help our individual operations in the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse work force. Our more than 150 local diversity teams complement the work of our North American and European teams by helping individual groups, regions and business units achieve local diversity goals and ensure diversity alignment with business strategy. Many local markets have even more targeted teams, such as women and/or minority focus groups that sponsor their own diversity leadership conferences annually to help support employee development and diversity recruitment.

Leadership Development and Support

  • Diversity Training
    • Enterprise conducts Diversity Orientation Training for all new employees worldwide, and multi-level Diversity Leadership Training for all managers. Our emphasis on diversity training helps create better leaders and managers.
  • Mentoring Programs
    • Enterprise offers both formal and informal mentoring opportunities designed to help us reach employees from all backgrounds. Our formal mentoring program provides one-on-one matching, training for mentors and mentees, online system support, measurement, and accountability. Our goal is to help all employees navigate our culture, develop leadership and interpersonal abilities, cultivate their own skills sets and grow their careers.

Employee Communications

  • Internal Awareness
    • Our commitment to diversity is communicated throughout all available internal channels to include company magazines in all lines of business, Founding Values, and company internet site.

Supplier Development

  • Supplier Diversity
    • Enterprise wants its supplier base to bear a reasonable relationship to the communities in which we do business. Our supplier diversity program identifies and encourages equal opportunities for minority-owned, women-owned and other types of disadvantaged businesses. National partnerships with organizations such as the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Women Business Enterprise Council, and Airport Minority Advisory Council assist us in reaching our goals.
